SPORT'S HALL TIVOLI

Sport's Hall Tivoli celebrated 40 years of existence in 2005 since the construction started in November 1963 and finished in March 1965 which was a record of its own due to severe conditions which accompanied the works through all three years. According to the approximate evaluation no less then 20 million spectators visited the hall between 1965 and 1999 either through sport events or, cultural and other meetings.

EVENTS

The history of big events in Hall Tivoli has started with a spectacle. Its first guest was the icon of the world jazz Luis Daniel Armstrong who gathered 6000 people. In September 2000 the reconstruction of the big Hall in Tivoli finished and later resulted in the move of the BC Union Olimpija. The club now hosts all its Euroleague games in the hockey hall which for the occasion is transformed into the basketball hall over the night. The record number of visitors was improved in 1986 when the British rock group Dire Straits was cheered by 8000 people. Besides the ones mentioned Tivoli also hosted B.B. King, The Queen, Tina Turner, Spandau Ballet, The Dubliners, Iggy Pop, Eros Ramazzoti, David Bowie, Nirvana, Joe Cocker, Bob Dylan and others in the past.
